Day 3 (23.11.2007)

Today I walked to the Wuhou Temple. I went by foot and on my way I also visited the city center of Chengdu. The Wuhou Temple is a memorial for Zhuge Liang (181 - 234). During the Three Kingdoms period (220 - 280) Zhuge Liang was the chancellor of the State of Shu and besides he was a brilliant military strategist. Because of these and further reasons he is being worshipped in China. In this temple there are statues of important personalities of the State of Shu. After visiting the Wuhou Temple I drove to the Wangjianglou Park. This park was built in honour of the poetess Xue Tao, who lived during the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907). She liked bamboo very much and so today in this park there are over 150 sorts of bamboo. Finally I have to say that all temples, gardens and parks which I have seen in Chengdu are landscaped very nice and they look typical South Chinese.
