Day 7 (10.12.2007)
Today I wanted to go from Datong to Taiyuan by bus and then further to Pingyao. Taiyuan is the provincial capital of Shanxi and it is located about 250 km (as the crow flies) south of Datong. At the bus station I got the information that due to snowfall the motorway is closed and so there are no busses going to Taiyuan. Together with three Chinese we took a taxi and it drove over country roads. In the evening we arrived in Taiyuan and I took a hotel room.
