Boeing F-15 Eagle

The F-15 Eagle should be a substitute for the F-4 Phantom II fot the USAF. The USAF wanted to have a newer fighter after the Vietnam war to be the best in the air. The US Navy offered the F-14 Tomcat to the USAF, but the USAF was not content and they did not to modernize the F-4 Phantom II. 1965 the project began. McDonnell Douglas (today: Boeing) built this airplane. The prototype was tested in the Edwards Air Force Base in California. There exist versions of the F-15 with one seat and other versions with two seats. In the 2nd gulf war (1990-1991) the F-15 was very successful, because no F-15 was shot. The F-15 Eagle might be modernize and might became new turbines to be ready for the 21th century.
