McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II

The F-4 did its first flight in 1958. F-4 was produced by the company McDonnell Douglas. Altogether over 5000 F-4 were produced. The production ended in 1979. The F-4 is a heavy and very successful combat aircraft. It is not only a fighter and it can be used for different purposes. The F-4 was very successful in the Vietnam war. Later it was slowly replaced by the F-15. Many versions of the F-4 were built, because it was so successful. In different European countries the F-4 flies until today and it will several years. The F-4 today have been modernized.
