The Bombardier Learjet 45 XR is a business jet from the Learjet series from the Canadian company Bombarider. In 1995 the Learjet 45 did its maiden flight and in 1998 the delivery began. The Learjet 45 XR has got a higher takeoff weight and a higher range than the Learjet 45. In 1959 William Powell Lear began to develop the first Learjet. In 1963 the first Learjet did its maiden flight. In 1964 the delivery of the first Learjet began - it was a Learjet 23. In 1973 the Learjet 35 did its maiden flight. The first aircrafts from the Learjet series like the Learjet 25 and 35 had got wingtip tanks. Newer Learjets like the Learjet 45 XR have got winglets instead of wingtip tanks.
