Kunzite
The Kunzite has got the chemical formula LiAl[Si2O6]. It is a lithium aluminium silicate. Kunzite is as spodumene variety. The rose color of the Kunzite is caused by small quantities of manganese oxide. Kunzites can also be violet. Kunzites are transparent. The crystals of Kunzites are oblong and have got strips. Like the Calcite the Kunzite has got also a strong birefringence. Good Kunzites are sharpened to precious stones. Under heat influence and under the influence of radioactive radiation the Kunzite changes its color. The Kunzite can be found in California and in some other parts of the USA and also in Madagascar.
