Stilbite


Stilbite

Stilbite has got the chemical formula Ca[Al2Si7O18] * 7H2O and so it is a silicate. It has got a hardness of 3.5 to 4 and it crystallizes in the monoclinical system. Another name for stilbite is desmine. In nature stilbite can be found in form of bundles of sheaves. Silbite can be found in India, in Brazil, in the Alps, in the USA and in Iceland.
